JUSTLY INDIGNANT.
A regrettable incident occurred on Saturday afternoon last on the occasion of a football match held under the auspices of the Wairarapa Rugby Union at Carterton. It appears that the editor of the " Wairarapa Daily News" (Mr W. F. Roydhouse) was refused admission to the match unless he either produced a ticket or paid a shilling, and that an official of the Union treated him with discourtesy The same official, it also appears, used some very extraordinary language in reference to the Press of the Wairarapa. Mr Roydhouse was justly indignant, and at present he is engaged in "diseasing down" the Union. We do not anticipate for a moment that the Executive of the Union will in any degree sanction the conduct of the official referred to, and we trust that they will see their way to express sincere regret at the manner in which Mr Roydhouse was treated. xbe Wairarapa Rugby Union, however, could with advantage display a more appreciativeand sportsmanlike atcitude towards the Press.
