BRITAIN v. SOUTH CANTERBURY. 1 BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, June 9. The following is the British football team against South Canterbury tomorrow: —Full-Lack, Jackctt; threequarters, Johnny Williams, McEvedy, Vassall and Chapman; forwards, W. Morgan, J. P. Jones (Guy's), Harding, Smith, Jackson, E. 'Morgan, Down, Thomas, Hind, Archer, PALMERSTON N., June 9. The demand of the A. and P. Association for thirty-three and a third per cent, of the gross takings at the Manawatu v. Anglo-Welsh match, for the use of the Showgrounds, was dealt with by the Management Committee of the Manawatu Union tonight. Proposals were made to play the match on the Sports Ground at the Feilding Racecourse, the latter of which had been offered free of charge. It was eventually decided to appoint a deputation to wait on tho General Committee of the A. and P. Association, next week, with a view to coming to an amicable arrangement |or the use of the Showgrounds. It was pointed out that this was the best ground available for the match, provided satisfactory terms can be arranged. If the Association persists in its demands the match will prvobably be played on the Feilding Racecourse.
