"THE TIMES" LIBEL CASE.
APPEAL WITHDRAWN. Received June y, 8.8 a.m. LONDON, June 8. "Tlie Times" has withdrawn its appeal in the Murray libel case.
The writer of a letter in "The Times" accused Mr Murray of charging an extortionate price to the public for the "Letters of Queen Vic toria," claiming that Mr Murray must have made a profit of 32s from each cony of the work sold. A verdict was found for the plaintiff, with £7,500 damages, but stay of execution was granted to give the defendants an option of appealing.
