D EATH OF A V.C. VETERAN.

PALMERSTON, N., June 8. Ensign M"Kenna, V.C., formerly Stationmaster at, Palme'rston Ncrtb, Gore and other places, died here to-day. McKenna gained his V.C. on 7th September 1863 for conspicuous gallantry at Cameron Town wit-h the 65th. He was 70 yeara of age and retired from the railway service in 1903.
