ACCIDENT ON A STEAMER.

The steamer Matatua, bound from Auckland to Wellington, put in yesterday for medical assistance for Robert Galway, sixth engineer, who was found unconscious 'tween decks. It is surmised that he missed his footing - , and fell from the deck above. He was bruised and cut about the head, and is also suffering from concussion of the brain* The engineer was removed to the Hospital* GISBORNE, Last Night. Galway has recovered consciousness, and says that he w"as descendirg into the bunker to see' to the. trimming of the coal when the rope he had hold of broke. The patieflt is improving.
