MASTERTON RACING CLUB.

- MONTHLY MEETING OF STEWARDS. The monthly meeting of Stewards of the Masterton Racing 1 Club was . Ijeld on Saturday afterncon. Present —Messrs A. G. Pilmer (in the chair), J. Cress, C. H. Smith, 0. C. Cooper* W. Cooper, F. Bulck, J. lorns, W. Piatt, A. J. Welch, D. McLachlan, J. Macara, C. A. Pownall. The treasurer reported a cr dit balance of £144 18s 6d. Mr E. A. Lacry, secretary of the Wairarapa Racing Club, wrote svgthat a conference be held at Masterton of two delegates from each club in the Wellington racing district to discuss the question of the issue of complimentary tickets. Mr Cress thought it was a matter for each club to deal wi.th on its own behalf. Mr McLachlan agreed with this view. He thotght a judicious issue, of tickets was in the interests of a club, Jand each club was the best judge of its patrons. Mr 0. C. Cooper agreed with -the previous speakers to some extent, but thought some good would come of such a conference, a3 there was a lack of uniformity in the interchange of club compliments, and friction had arisen. He moved that the club inform the Wairarapa Club thac it was agreeable to the proposal. Mr lorns seconded the motion, which was carried. Messrs 0. C. Cooper and McLachlan were appointed delegates to the proposed conference. Mr Pownall moved that it be a recommendation to the delegates that the issue of luncheon tickets be abolished altogether. This motion was lost. Mr 0. C. Cooper then moved that the question of the issue of luncheon tickets be discussed at the conference. This was agreed to unanimously. Mr R. H. Ald worth wrote applying for the position of starter to the club. It was decided to inform the applicant that the club already possessed a starter. The report of the Race Date Committee was adopted. Messrs F. Moore and T. Kilminster wrote forwarding their resignations, which were accepted. Mr W. Hall forvyarded the minutes of the, conference of secretaries of racing clubs and a list of motions to be submitted to the Racing Conference. Mr T. A. Dwyer applied for the issue to him of a trainer's license. The application was granted.
