WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB.
"MEET" AT CLAREVILLE. A very enjoyable meet was held at Clareville yesterday attention under the aurpices of the Wairarapa Hunt Club. The throw-off took place at Mr Campbell's paddock, Cemetery line, following on through to Carrington Estate, when the kill took place. The drag was laid by Mr W. il. Booth on Piriaka, and Mr N< Williams on Kurahanui. Those who foilowed the hounds were Messrs B. Welch on Whakataki (huntsman); J. McGregor, on President (whip); Dr Archer Hnsking, on Tui (master); W. H. Buick, on Dick Turpin (deputy-master), H. Walters, on Purakau H. Dixon, on Moonlight; N. Douglas, on Atarangi, H. Douglas, on wakii; i. McCann, on Sweetlethe; T. Smith, on Tour; V. O'Neill, on Lttherin; J. Chisholm, on Tattoo; P» Matron, on Vulima; P. Tilson, on Sir Lei he; W. lorns, or. Starlight; W. Phillips, on Traylock; W. Hereock, on Cioveal; 0. Cadwallader, on Horarai; and A. 0. Cadwalhuier, on Bay. After the kill ar. adjournment was made tn Carrington house, where afternoon tea was served. Three hearty cheers were accorded to Mr and Mrs W. IL Booth for their hospitality. The "meet" throughout was most enjoyable,, only one minor spil' occurring at the water jump, the rider escaping with a "ducking." A large number of spectators witnessed the hunt. The next "meet" will take place at Dry River, Martinborough, on the 13th (to-morrow week).
