GLENGARRY v. ST. JOHN'S. A match was played at Wellington yesterday between the Glengarry (Masterton) and St. John's Ladies' Club. A keenly contested game, in which the Glengarry team showed better form than they have previously this year, resulted in a draw —one goal each. Miss E. Devonport, who played a fine game all through, scored the goal for the visitors.
GARRY OWEN v. PAHIATUA. A match was played at Pahiatua yesterday between the local ladies' club and the Garry Owen Club of Masterton, and resulted in a win for the former by 2 goals to 1. Miss Coylc scored the goal for the visitors, receiving a pass from Miss K. O'Leary, who made a brilliant run down the field. W.F.C.A. TEAM AT DANNEVIRKE. The W.F.C.A. Hockey Club played two matches at Dannevirke yesterday, one against Dannevirke A team and the other against Ruahine. In the first match W.F.C.A. came off victorious by 3 goals to nil. The visiters had considerably the best of the play. The home team lacked combination, and did not put any "go" into their play. In the first spell goals were scored for W.F.C.A. by Thynne and Dunn, and in the second half Fairbrother notched a goal. The second game was fast and interesting throughout. The teams were well matched, and made the play "willing" from start to finish. j Ruahine scored a goal (shot by Simpson) in the first spell, and W.F.C.A. failed to ocore. In the second half Robertshaw obtained a goal for Ruahine and Whitt placed the ball between the posts for the visitors. Ruahine thus won by 2 goals to 1. Bottrell, who played full-back for the winning team, gave a brilliant exhibition. The team played without a goal-keeper and this player filled the position of full-b»ck and goal-keeper as well, tilling them both splendidly. He appi-aivri to be always on the ball, and some of his hits down the field w.'i'o a treat to witness. The W.F.C.A. team were hospitably entertained by the home teams, and speak in terms of praise of the manner in which they were treated. WELLINGTON WESLEYAN CLUB v. KNOX. The above teams met at Lansd'owne yesterday, when the visitors were victorious by four goals to two. The match was evenly contested up to the final stages of play, when the scores stood two goals all. By superior combined play, Wellington then rattled on two more goals, which gave them the victory. Loader and Boyd scored for Knox. Mr Malcolm Mcintosh was referee.
