Maunsell kindly provided afternoon tea, and for which he was heartily cheered. The following took part in the run: Messrs H. Welch (huntsman), on Rata; J. Floyd, on Mimosa; J. Munro, on Boxer; Whips, A. A. Cameron (district master), on Onaway; J. Hudson, on Prospector; Wekland, on Cunmetal; J. O'Brien, on Surprise; A. Hasting, on Floater; J. Douglas, on Robin; J. Steven, on Yeoman A. Schofield, •o.i Dauntless; H. Millarv, on Scarlight; W. S. Barr, on Lady Grey. On May 24th the ladies of Te Nui entertained their friends at a dance j*j|b.ie Town Hall. There were a : Jai"?e number uf visitors present fi'j n all parts of the dintrict. Several journeyed from Hoimewood, Alfredton, MartinboruUgh and Masterton, and all thoroughly enjoyed the dance. The supper was excellent and the Unor was perfect. The committee, Misses Belliss, Langdon, McHutchon, Morrison, Sutton and Groves are deserving of a word of praise for the capable manner in which they carried outtho arrangements in connection with the function. Excellent music was supplied by Mr F. McKenzie. A sharp shock of earthquake was felt here at 9.50 a.m. yesterday.
