A NEW IDEA.

WELLINGTON, June 2. It has been decided by the Hospital Trustees, on the recommendation of the House Committee, that tenders be called for the building of a j bakers' oven at the Hospital in order ! that bread consumed by the patients and staff may be made on the premises. Figurps placed before the Trustees at to clay's meeting were considered to fully justify this action. It was shown that the usual number of patients in the Hospital was from 280 to 300, and the staff numbered from 100 to 120, the consumption of bread being about 300 loaves per day.
