Y.M.C.A. PROGRESS. The decision of the Masterton branch of the Y.M.C.A. to engage the services of a general secretary, on the announcement by the President (Mr P. L. Boilings) that he would guarantee to secure the balance required for the secretary's salary is a move calculated to further develop the institution. With an energetic secretary, who can devote the whole of his time to studying the interests of the Association, rapid progress should be made during the next twelve months. The subscription fee for members has been substantially reduced all round. The object is mainly to increase the membership and the reduction in the fees should give an impetus in the direction desired.
