CHINESE TRAVEL AS MERCHANDISE. Received May 2y, 8.37 a.m. NEW YORK, May 28. Twelve Chinese consigned to New York as merchandise from Texas, in order to evade the payment of fares and poll tax, died in transit, owing to lack of ventilation.
