At 9 a.m. yesterday Captain Edwin issued the following forecast lor the subsequent 24 hours:— Wind —Westerly, strong to gale at all plnces northward o Napiei, Taupo and Kawhia; southerly, strong to gale elsewhere. Barometer —Fall at all places northward of Kaikoura and Hr.kitika, but rising after ten hours. Further rise everywhere else. Rain is probable generally and with colder weather. Warning signal for westerly gale ia exhibited a*; Cape Maria Van Diemen, 'L'iritiri, and East Cape, and for southerly ga'e at Capes Campbell, Foulwind, Farewell Spit and Nuggets.
