CELEBRATION IN SYDNEY.
Received May 25, 12.56 a.m. SYDNEY, May 24. Empire Day was celebrated by a ■large church parade of the troops. The Governor-General, Sir Harry Rawson, was present. <AT NAPIER. # , NAPIER, May 24. The volunteers defence cadets and veterans paraded and attended service at the cathedral this afternoon .in honour of Empire Day. \The '•weather was dull, but there was a good muster and a fairly large attendance of the public. - The firing in connection with the "Daily Mail's" ' Empire Cup took ~place on Saturday, when members of the Napier Guards, Napier Rifles, Ranfurly Rifles, Hawke's Bay Mounted Rifles, Hastings Rifles, Taradal« and Maraekakaho Rifle Oluds took .parti There was a strong wind, with -a bright light, and the scores were not out of ordinary.
