WELLINGTON SUPREME COURT.

WELLINGTON, May 22. At the Supreme Court, to-day, Wallace Herbert Stewart was charged with forgery. The jury returned a verdict that accused was guilty of uttering a receipt, but did not consider that it was done with criminal intent. The Judge said that there was sufficient doubt about the verdict to make it desirable to obtain a decision of the Appeal Court, as to he effect of the finding. The accused was in the meantime admitted to bail. Fredk. Percy Pilcher, 19 yearn of age, on a charge of forgery and larceny, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment without hard labour.
