WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB.
(By Our Special Reporter.)
A fine afternoon's sport was witnessed at the meet, of the Wairarapa Hunt Club at. Opaki yesterday. At 3 o'clock Huntsmen Buick and Clancy laid the trail—a course cross country, about two miles and a-half, with plenty of stiff obstacles, which were negotiated in fine style by twenty-five huntsmen, including Mr Vallance on Dina, Mr O'Neil on Letherin, Mr A. Watts on Dulcinea, Mr R. Buick on Kiwi, Mr Bennett on Sou'wester, Mr Matthews on Kenmore, Mr W. Buick on Firestick, Dr Hosking on Dick Turpin, Mr Vernoon on Tui, and over a dozen others. Over one hundred people witnessed the start of the meet. The huntsmen and spectators were entertained with refreshments at the of Mr R. Buick, who was accorded hearty cheers for his hospitality. There were only two or three spills throughout the day, but nothing of a serious nature. The hounds were in fine form and made the pace a "cracker."
