HUGHES SHIELD. GLENGARRY v. PAPA KOURA. The Glengarry and Papa Koura (Featherston) Clubs met on the Showgrounds, yesterday afternoon. A fast and interesting game was witnessed. Featherston attacked shortly after the commencement of the game, but Misses Gordon and E. Miller drove them back. Misses A. Devonport and Logan were associated in an attack on the FeatherstoA goal, but Miss Skipage relieved. AXcombined rush by the Featherston forwards placed the home team on the defence, and they had a busy time defendinw A good shot by Miss Pearl Aitcheson went outside the post. A bully in the circle resulted in some exciting play, and the home team set up a determined attack. Misses Sheen, Easthope and Aitcheson eventually cleared the line. The match between the Huia and High School teams was played on the Schoolground, yesterday afternoon. The game was keenly contested, an J the School played a plucky game against their heavier opponents. Some brilliant individual play was witnessed at times on both pHes. King was referee. GARRY OWEN v. KIA TOA. The Garry Owen team played Kia Toa (Greytown), at Greytown yesterday afternoon, and wer) defeated by three goals to nil. The game was interesting throughout, and good play was witnessed on both sides. The Garry Owens put up a good fight throughout, and their play showed considerable improvement compared with last season. Mr Humphrey was referee. i MAJOR CUP. CARTERTON A v. Y.M.C.A. A match was played at Lansdowne yesterday afternoon between the C'arrerton A and the Y. M.C.A. teams. The game wu3 a good one and keenly contested. Both teams were in fine form, and naturally the game was filSt.

The match resulted in a draw, each side scoring three Reals. For the visitors, Bunny, Petersen and Reid scored goals, and for the Y.M.C.A., Brown, Hooper and Rue notched goals. Mr D. M. Mcintosh was referee. W.F.C.A. B v. KNOX. Knox easily defeated W.F.C.A. B team at Lansdowne yesterday by six goals to nil. W.F.C.A. were outclassed all-round, and played without any combination. Up to within a quarter of an> hour of call of time, Knox were almost continually on the attack, but in the last few minutes W.F.C.A. rallied and kept play in their opponents territory, but their attempts to score were unsuccessful. Goals were scored for Knox by Gray, Ibbetson, Hornblow, Calvert, White and Loader. Mr Bannin acted as referee.

W.F.C.A. (A.) v CARTERTON (B.)

The W.F.C.A. (A) defeated the Carterton (B) team on, the Show grounds at Carterton yesterday afternoon by 8 goals to nil. The W.F.C.A. team scored two goals in the first spell and six in the second. Mr J. O'Meara.was referee.
