"UNJUSTLY ACCUSED."
THE CASE OF CANON NASH. Recoi/ed May 19, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, May 19. Archbishop Clarke, of Melbourne, • has written to Canon Nash. He states:"You have been unjustly accused of misconduct in England, arid I rejoice to have cancelled the decision of your unfitness fur tho ministry. The only compensation for the pain and anguish you have suffered during the last few months lie-in the knowledge that thu enquiries made in England resulted in the diaumissal of the charge."
Charges were made against Caron Nash by Canon Bardaley, who was vicar of Huddersfield, England, when Mr Nash was curate there. Mr J. S. Faulkner, of Geelong, who was sent to England by sympathisers with Mr Nash, formerly incumbent of Christ, Church, Geelong, to investigate charges of misconduct made against Mr Nash while curate at . Huddersfield, Yorkshire, made proenquiries, and has stated that herfias not been able to find a trace of anything to justify a charge of any kind against Mr Nash. Owing to the refusal of Canon Bardsley to support his original charges against Canon Nash, Archhishop Clarke a few -days ago withdrow the order for the canon's permanent disability.
