WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB.
MEET AT FEATHERSTON.
One of the most enjoyable m?ets that has been held for a long time by the Wairarapa Hunt Club took place on Saturday, over the properties of Messrs J. Shaw and Pharazyn, at Featherston. Contrary to expectations, the weather was favourable for hunting, and in consequence a good number of members participated in the run. The throw-off took place on Mr J. Shaw's place, the drag being laid in turn by Messrs J. Shaw and N. Williams, mounted on Trustee and Kuranui respectively. A run over about a mile took plare, when a check was made. After a brief halt the scent was regained, the hounds finding on Mr Pharazyn's property, where, after traversing one and a-half miles, they killed. The party then repaired to Mr and Mrs Shaw's homestead, where afternoon tea was dispensed under the supervision of Mrs Shaw, and greatly appreciated. The gathering dispersed after cheers had been given for Mr and Mrs Shaw. Among those who took part in the meet were: — Messrs H. Welch (huntsman) on Whakataki, W. H. Buick on Firestick, J. Robertson on Sweet Lethe, J. Wolters on Purakau, J. Juno on Moonlight, G. Hume on Strathcona, N. Hodder on Story. The next meet will be held over Mr W. H. Buick's property on Thursday next. The throw-oft' will take place at 2.30 p.m.
