A MIDNIGHT ATTACK. TRIBESMEN LOSE HEAVILY. Received May 18, 9.50 p.m. CALCUTTA, May 18. The Mohmands attacked a picket at Darwagagai during a midnight storm. The attackers, who fought stubbornly, lost heavily. Two native officers and seven men belonging: to the British fone were killed. A native officer and twentythree men were wounded. Captain Rich, of the Royal Engineers, was slightly wounded in the arm while blowing up the enemy's cowers near Khapak.

DEATHS FROM CHOLERA. Received May 18, 10 p.m. LONDON, May 18. Twenty-seven deaths from cholera have occurred amongst the Munster Fusiliers stationed on the north-west frontier of India.
