GRAIN REPORT.
Mr P. Pownall, of the New Zealand and Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tive Associations, Wellington, reports as follows, all quotations being i'.o.b., port of shipment, sacks free: —Oats. —lncreased Australian shipments have led to slight hardening, late milling orders being extended to feed, with further June-August contracts under consideration. B grade Danish rule at 2s 7d, Gartons and Sparrowhills 2s 7Jd, Duns 2s 9d. Colonial seeds 3s, imported Algerians 3s lid. Costs should stand during winter. Wheat. — Depleted Argentine stocks has augmented general advance, Commonwealth rising 2d, Adelaide now quoting 4s 4d. Dominion holders have firmed to 4s lOd for best milling, with r>s in view. Fowl feed scarce at 4s 9d. .Potatoes. —Brisk consumption combined to shortage North, keeps trade buoyant, Whites realising U7s Gd, Blues 102s 6d. Both advancing quietly. Maize.—Northern stocks hare, Sydney now supplying at 5s 6d cif. dp. Barley.—Business slack, matling asking fis 3d. Feed 3s 9d. Peas.—Partridge still scarce at 4s 6d. Split £ls 10s. Bran.—Sustains advance at £5 15s, heavy export accelerating. Pollard.—Small deliveries at £7. Oatmeal.—2s'a list at £l3, rolled oats, £lB, oatina, 10s Gd. Grade is upward. Chaff.—Qualities shewing are variable, best bright asking 100s, medium UOs, straw chaff 60s. Market is nearing limit. Hay. —Rye-clover costs 87s Gd. Pressed straw 42s 6d.
