FOOTBALL.

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. The following is the position of the teams competing in the Senior Champinship of the Wairarapa Rugby Union:—

MASTEKTON CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Masterton Club was held last evening in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms. The secretary presented his report in connection with entertaining the Wellington Athletic and Star teams at Easter. Receipts amounted to £t3 ios, and I'XuoiiUti.uve £i i 1 'id. o<Jt of Hie latter sum two amounts f 10s each were donated to the club by those to whom payments were made. The club therefore came out £1 to the good. It was stated that the club would be well advised if it followed the practice of South Island Clubs in doing .away with smoke concerts altogether. The report was adopted, and it was decided to confine entertaining visiting teams in future to drives into the country and to providing the ordinary dinner on day of match. It ■was decided to arrange a match for the juniors against the Wellington Club, at Masterton, on Juno 3rd. A vote of thanks was accorded Messrs W. S. Lamb and A. Jones for conations, and Mr W. Cragg for presenting a ball to the club. Accounts amounting to £4 2s 6d were passed for payment. The following new members were elected: —H. Simonsen, H. Billington, Dean, Ferguson, Richards, V. ' Piori, B. Stewart, Ericksen, E. Maher, J. Burrell, N. McLaren.

The following team has been selected to represent the Bush Union against Wairarapa, at Masterton, on Saturday: Full-back, D. Yule; three-quarters, Connor, Collins and Lowe; five-eighth, Kinzett; half, Poplewell; wing forwards, Trengrove andLyle; forwards, Bateman, R. .T. Smith, G. Smith, Harvey, H. Johnson, Anderson, Alexander. Emergencies Backs, G. Twentyman, Thompson and Malmanche; forwards, Henry, Pratt and Cowan.
