AN APPEAL DISMISSED,
Received May 11, 8.20 a.m. LONDON, May 10,
The Court for the Consideration of Crown Cases Reserved, consisting of Lord Alverstone (Lord Chief Justice), and Justices Ridley, Darling, Channell and Lawrence, dismissed Mary Hamilton's appeal and affirmed her conviction.
Mrs Hamilton was prosecuted on a charge of perjury in connection with her evidence in the Druce case.
WAR ON OPIUM". AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE. Received May 11, 9.15 a.m. NEW YORK, May 10. All the Powers have agreed to America's suggestion that an international conference shall be held to consider the question of the limitation or prohibition of the importation of opium except for medical purposes.
