MASTERTON-RACING CLUB.
MONTHLY MEETING OF STEWARDS. The monthly meeting of Stewards of the Masterton Racing Club was held on Saturday afternoon.' There were present—Messrs C. F. Vallance (in the chair), A. G. Pilmer, W. lorns, C. A. Pownall, J. lorns, C. H. Smith, D. McLachlan, A. J. Welch, R. Buick, J..Cress, W. Piatt and W. Cooper." " , , The treasurer reported a credit balance at bank of £221;
Mr W. H. Wanklyn, secretary of the Racing Conference, which is to be held about July next, wrote requesting that notices of motion for the conference be sent in by the SOtii instant. The same stewards a3 attended the last Conference, Messrs 0. C. Cooper and W. E. Bidwill, were appointed delegates for the forthcoming conference. , Mr W. H. Buick wrote suggesting that the club should insert a Hunters' Hurdle Race in the second day's programme for next meeting. The suggestion wa,s referred to the Programme Committee. , ' The dates for the spring meeting were fixed for October 29th and 30th. The Stewards decided to fix the dates for the autumn meeting la.ter on, after replies had been received from various sporting bodies. The secretary was instructed to writs to the 83cretaries of country clubs, to instruct to the conference to support a proposition that fees received from'gentlemen risers certificates be returned to the clubs forwarding the same, the fees to be included in the cost of the trophy in the race.
