The death has occurred at. Napier of Major Edmundson. whoi saw considerable service im India. The deceased arrived, in the dominion in> 1887,.
Mr F. Wise has beeni appointed Secretary of the Eketahuna Railway League.
Mr T. Hodgins,. Chairman of the Fahiatua County, Council; who recently underwent an operation for appendicitis in Wellington, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery. The remains of the late Mrs Breen,. mother of Mrs F. Buick, were interred in Masterton Cemetery, on Saturday afternoon, the cortege being a representative one. The Rev. Blather Kelly officiated at the graveside* The funeral of the late .Vr T. Cox took place on Saturday afternoon, and was largely attended. There was a large number of Foresters in the procession. The Lodge ritual was impressively carried out at the graveside. The burial service was read by Bro. E. Tocker.
The death occurred at the Masterton Hospital on Friday evening last of Mr F. E. Harris, a well-known settler of Mungaterere Valley. The deceased was thirty years of age, and leaves a widow and four children. The funeral will arrive at the Clare" ville store from the Masterton Hospital at 3 p.m. to-day, and will proceed thence to the Ciareville Cemetery.
