METEOROLOGICAL.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall on the" Upper Plain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. yesterday was 5 points.
• At 9 a.m. yesterday Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours':— Wind.—Westerly, strong to gale at all places northward of Thames and Manukau Heads; southerly, heavy gale generally elsewhere. Barometer.—Rise every where. Rain is probable southward of Thames and Manukau Heads, and snow on high country in the South Island, with colder weather everywhere. Warning signal for westerly gale is exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri, and East Cape, and for southern gale at Capes Campbell, Fbulwind, Farwell Spit, and Nuggets.
