SERIOUS CHARGES.
CHRIS L'OtiURCH, May 7. Tba hea.ing of the charges against Frederick Hall of attempting to murder Alex. James Muir, and of attempting to fire a revolver at Constable Moriarty, came on at the Lyttelton Police Court to-day, and excited interest sufficient to draw a crowd to the Courthouse. The injured man, Muir, arrived by the 9v55 a.m. train from Christchurch to attend the Court, and his ar'ival caused quite a stir, a considerable number of people following him along the street. He appeared to be still Buffering from .the effects of his wounds, and ha 3to sit in Court while givjng evidence. A considerable quantity of evidence relating to the alleged crimes were heard, and Hall was committed for trial at the next criminal sessions.
