COMMONWEALTH FINANCIAL PROPOSALS.
LITTLE CHANCE OF ACCEPTANCE. Received May 7, 10.3 a.m. MELOURNE, May 7. From the cross-examination of Mr Deakin at the Premier's Conference, there apears to be little chance of the conference entertaining the Commonwealth financial proposals. Mr Deakin stated that he would be pleased to consider any alternative scheme brought forward, or to reconsider his own scheme.
