STOCK MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mer- | cantile Agency Co;, Ltd., report that at Pahiatua on Tuesday the yards were well filled, with a better class of sheep offering and an improved market. We effected a clearance with one exception. Cattle entries were limited, but those yarded all met with a sale at advanced rates. At Masterton yesterday several entries in sheep did not come forward, a fact mainly due to the rough weather prevailing. However we had a fair yarding, and the tone of the market, particularly for wethers and lambs, was decidedly better. We made an absolute clearance. Cattle entries were confined to bullocks, and those penned being of a good class good sales were made. At Pahiatua on Tuesday wethers ranged from 10s for poor to 12s 6d, for good ewes in lamb, best 9s 6d to 10s, others 7s, 6s, lambs 5s to 6s Id, culls 3s 3d, 2year steers 425, 18-months 30s, heifers (one to two years) 15s to 255. At Masterton light fat ewes lis" 3d, lambs (fats) 9s fid to lis, forward lambs 8s to 9s, best stores 7s, others 6s, culls 2s 6d, breeding ewes (medium) 8s to 9s, empty Bs, light sorts 6s, wethers 12s to 13s 6d, 4-year bullocks to £5 14s.
