COURSING.
PALMERSTON N., May .6.
The most successful coursing meeting ever held in Palmerston North was concluded to-day in showery weather. Good strong hares were available, and kills were infrequent. The final of the Maiden Stake was wou by G. Bulled's Respite, who beat T. Henney's Gold Crest by 6 points to 3 after a keen course, in which the hare escaped. The final of the Open Sweepstake was won by F. N. Dane's Marquis, who defeated Moss Rose by 7 points to 4.
