FOOTBALL.
The Victorian Football League has issued its programme in connection with the Australian Jubilee Carnival, to commence on August 19th. The carnival will last ten days on the Melbourne Cricket' Ground. and the programme is:—August 19th, New Zealand v. New South Wales, Queensland v. Tasmania; August 21st, Victoria v. New Zealand; August 22nd, Tasmania v. New South Wales, South Australia v. West Australia; August 24th, New Zealand v. Queensland; August 25th, New South Wales v. winne-sof W.A. v. S.A. match of 22nd; August 26th,New Zealand v. Tasmania, Victoria v. losers of W.A. v. S.A. match of 22nd; August 27th, Queensland v. New South Wales; August 29th, No. 3 v. No. 4 team, No. 1 v. No. 2 team. (Final match to decide positions on championship list). The Melbourne Cricket Club has lixed the charge or hire of ground at ten per cent, of the gross takings, and the estimated expenses are £363. Thompson, Cavanagh, and Connor; five-eighth, W. Smith; half, D. Malmanch; wings, J. Quinlan and Lyle; forwards, S. Smith, Verry, .„ A.' Harvey, G. Smith, Pratt, Alex ander, W. Hurst.
