Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cable messages frum their London house, under date of the 30-th ultimo: —Butter: Market firm. The Copenhagen official quotation is 4 kroner (about. 4s-6d) per cwt. higher. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for week ended April 25th amounted, to 69,000 cwt., as compared with 88,000 cwt. for the corresponding week of 1907, showing a decrease of 19..000 cwt There is more demand for unsalted than salted. Finest 110s per cwt. Frozen meat: There is a fair demand for frozen mutton and lamb. Since our last advices mutton is J.d; peir lb lower. Poor demand for frozen beef, and any change in prices is in favour of buyers. Prices for frozen iamb are unchanged,, except for secondary qualities, for which prices are a shade easier. Tallow: Since our last advices tallow is 6d per cwt. higher. C.i-f. values are so far unchanged.
