HOCKEY.
A match was played in the Showgrounds yesterday afternoon between the Glengarry and Garry Owen teams. The game, which was evenly contsted, resulted in a win for the latter by 1 goal (hit by Miss N. Coyle) to nil. Misses K. O'Leary and N. Coyle were the most conspicuous of the Garry Owens, and Misses Gordon and McHattie of the Glengarry. Mr B. Iveson was referee. The Carterton hockey team held a very successful practice in the Park yesterday afternoon, when some aood form was shown. The A team will be selected on Monday evening.
WAIRARAPA LADIES' ASSOCIATION.
The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Ladies' Hockey Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening. Mr J. B. Rue occupied the chair, and there were also present:—Misses Telford, Lindop, Fisher (Carterton), McKenzie, William* (High School), Gordon, Millar (Glengarry), Richards, Hampton (Huia). Humphries, Beard (Greytown), Skipage, Easthope (Featherston), and K. O'Leary (Garry Owen.) The annual report and balance sheet were read and adopted. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £6 Is 3d. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr W. C. Buchanan;. Vice-Presi-dents, Dr. Bey and Messrs W. Barton, W. H. Jackson, C. A. Pownall, J. McHattie. W. Moore, J. Macara; postponement commitee, Misses Humphries, Skipage, Richards, and Lindop; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr J. B. Rue. It was decided to commence the championship matches on May 14th. Eulogistic reterence was made to the manner in which the secretary and treasurer (Mr J. B. Rue) had carried out his duties during the past ,year, and he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
