A BY-ELECTION.

The by-election for Kincardineshire caused by the death of Mr J. W. Crombie, resulted m the return of Captain Murray, Liberal, who received 3,961 votes against 1,963 cast for Mr S. J. Gammell, the Unionist candidate.

Mr J. W. Philipps, M.P. for Pembrokeshire, offers to resign his seat in favour of Mr Winston Churchill, President of the Board of Trade, who failed to secure re-election for Northwest Manchester.
