The Rev. H. van Staveren has returned to Wellington from the Wairarapa, where he has been on a visit..

Mr James Watkins, who for many yearai was manager of the Bank uf New Zealand at Nelson, died at Sydney on March 31st. Miss Glanville, who has left Carterton to take up her duties under the Wellington Edu'.ation Board, has been presented by the members of the Carterton Methodist Church and Christian Endeavour Society with a handsome ink stand, set in oak , and a silver pen and pencil. Mr M. O'Meara, of Temuka, is expected in Masterton shortly to take up the duties of clerk in the Masterton office of the Department of Agriculture.
