The Bush Unions senior competitions commenced on Saturday. Mangatainoka met Pahiatua, and were defeated by 3 points to nil. D. Yule scored a try for Pahiatua in the first spell. Soon after the kick off in the first spell, Dungan (Mangatainoka) had his collar bone broken, while jut>t on time Swainaon (Pahiatua) had his leg badly hurt. HukanuF defeated Hamua by 9 pointsjto 5, and Konim defeated Nireaha by 6 points to^3. The members of the Te Ore Ore » Club will hold a practice in the meeting house, at Te Ore Ore, this everting' .LA! The following will represent Albion juniors against Liberals on Thursday next, at Greytown:—J. Coyle, Kumai, R. Morris, B. Morris, jj. Wallace, H. Jones, W. L-a Roche, T Paul, O'Brien, W. Jones, T. Rooms at 7.30 o'clock this evening, for the purpose of forming a new Thursdav Rugby Football Club in Masterton. All those interested in the sport who have their halfholiday on Thursday are invited to attend, as the movers in the matter are desirous of getting the club into working order as soon as possible.
THE ASSOCIATION GAME. ENGLISH CUP FINAL. Received April 27, 8.35 a.m. LONDON, April 26. The final match for the Football Association Cup was "played between the Wolverhampton Wanderers -and the Newcastle United, in the presence of seventy thousand spectators. The Wolverhampton team won by three goals to one. CLUB FORMED IN MASTERTON.
A meeting of those interested in the formation of an AsFOciation Football Club in Masterton was held in the Dominion Hall last evening. Mr Parker occupied the chair, and there were eighteen others present. The chairman explained the object of the meeting, and stated that there were a number of Englishmen and Australians in Masterton who were more interested in Association than Rugby, and consequently it was thought advisable to make an effort to form an Association Club in Masterton. It was resolved to form a Club, and the names of thirty-four intending members were handed in. Mr Parker was appointed secretary. It was resolved to hold another meeting on Monday evening, and to have a practice game during the week. .
