A series of tornadoes in America has swept the country from Dakoa to the Gulf of Mexico, killing :ftve hundred persons, and injuring a thousand, mostly negroes. The principal damage was done >in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, where railroads were destroyed ;and telegraph and telephones wires w.eEe blown down.
