HIGH COMMISSIONERS' REPORT. . BY TEMXSEAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, April 2G. The Department of Industries and Commerce has' revived the following cable from London, dated April 25th : The mutton market is quiet, with less demand, and a tendency in favour of buyers. Canterbury brands are quoted at 4'Jd, and North Island at 4d. The weather lately has been very unfavourable for the sale of lamb, and the market is quiet. Canterbury lamb is quoted at 5Jd, and other than Canterbury brands at s£d. The beef market is dull. Hind and fore-quarters are quoted, respectively, at 3fd and 3*d per lb. ■ The butter market is very firm, and there is a general and active demand for the choicest. New Zealand butter is quoted at 112s, Australian at 108s, Danish at 112s, and Sibsiian at 108s per cwt. The cheese market is steady at Gla for white and 62s for coloured makes. The hemp market is steady, ar.d there is a better detrand. The cocksfoot seed market is firm, and the stock on hand is only small, and is quoted at 80s per cwt. The wool market' is firmer.
