Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall-registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours up to 9 a.m. on Thursday was 12 points.
|_ At 9 a.m., ycsterlay, Captain EdiTvin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours: Wind.—Southerly, moderate to to strong at all places north of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan ; westerly thence to Napier; northerly strong to gale after from 10 to 16 hours all places southward of Napier and New Plymouth. Barometer. Little movement northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Kawhia, fall everywhere else. Rain is probable southward of Napier and New Plymouth after from--10 to 16 hours. Warning signal for northerly gale is exhibited at Capes Campbeli, Farewell Spit, Foulwind, and Nuggets.
