PERSONAL.
A native woman named Lucy Aporo, a well-known resident of Grey town, •died on Tuesday last. Miss Campbell, of the iVlangamahoe school, has been promoted to the charge of the Kaipororo school. At the residence of the bride's parents at Mahuri on Monday last, Miss E. Powell, daughter of Mr J. H. Powell, was married to Mr L. S . Polglase, of Makuri. The death occurred at Grcytown, •on Monduy last, of Mr William Benge, oenr., at the age of 89 years. The deceased had resided for about thirty-four years in Greytown. Mr W. Diamond, of -Kopuarangn, will shortly take up his residence in Auckland. Mr Diamond and family have resided for over seven years in the district, and are highly esteemed.
