RACING. J WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB. \ AUTUMN MEETING. SECOND DAY. There was a reduced attendance for the second day of the Tauherenikau races, the weather conditions being much more pleasant than on Monday. The fields were fair right through, but the track was a bit sticky. The Autumn Handicap went to Aboriginal, who had a handy weight, and was a popular fancy. The starting was only fair, with an exception of two events, while the judge's decision in placing Naumai third in the last race, and giving Conquer firat place, gave great dissatisfaction, and caused a great commotion round the judge's box, the general opinion being that Naumai won from end to end by a clear neck. Perhaps the rider of Naumai was somewhat to blame for making the finish so close when his mount appeared to have plenty left in him. Eght bookmakers were licensed, four jmside and fdur out, one less tian ' on Monday. The sum cf £4,432 was put through the machine, making £12,860 for the meeting, as against £13,976 for the Easter meeting last year.
