THE EMPIRE CUP.
WELLINGTON, April 21. Arrangements for contesting the "Daily Mail's" Empire Cup trophy are being perfected. It is known that a number of clubs and district rifle associations in the dominion will participate. The suggestion has been made that the Defenca Forces Rifle Association should enter a team, but owing to the ambiguity of the conditions and the proximity of the deciding day it is impossible to ascertain definitely whether this is practicable'. Colonel Collins has decided to grapple with the difficulty by selecting the best scores made by the Association members who may fire with the district association or club team, and forward these scores to the "Daily Mail" executive as a tentative entry on behalf of the Defence Rifle Association; the highest •ten or twelve to be counted a3 the case may be, if such a team is adjudged eligible.
