Mr F. Pownall, of the New Zealand and Canterbury Farmers' Cooperative Associations, Wellington, report as follows, all quotations being f.0.b.,, port of shipment, sacks free :• Oats. Trade is dormant consequent on farmers limits not being acceptable to merchants, outside business being feasible only on lower value ruling. Increased cost of farm labour ia blocking derogation, but stocks will have to be quitted. /B grade Danish list at 2s Gd, S-Bills '2s 6Jd, Gartons 2s 7d, Duns 2s Bd, Seeds 2s lid. Wheat.—Flour trust has thrown down the gauntlet to Australia, and operations for next few imontha will be watched with interest. Millers are stocking lightly, Tuscan ;and Velvet firsts realising 4s 9d, fowl feed 4s Bd. Potatoes Provided •growers do not overburden markets, brisk consumption existing will check ■further weakening until winter is passed. Whites are steady at £4 ss, Blues £4 10s. Maize.—Small turnover at 4s Bd. Barley.—Malting •quiet 5s 3d, feed 4a, Cape 4s 3d. Peas.—Partridge active 4s, Split £ls lOs. Bran.—Sale and output regular at £5 ss. Pollard.—Hardly obtainable at £7. Oatmeal.—2s's firm at £l3, rolled oats £lB, oatina 10s 6d. Chaff.—South are hardening with .supplies temporarily thinning, asking i)7s 6d for bright, and 92s 6d for medium. Straw chaff 67s 6d. Hay. —Rye-clover 87s 6d. Straw 455.
