JOHNSONVILLE SALE. (Special to the "Age.") Messrs Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale held on Tuesday, as follows: — Three was a full entry of beef. Most of the cows and heifers were from prime to medium sorts. The bullocks were only fair. Ox beef made 22s 6d, plain steers 20s, cow beef from 18s to 20s heifers 21s, best bullocks, £7 17s 6d to £8 7s 6d, light £7 to £7 2s 6d, stores £4 17s 6d, heifers £6 to £6 2s fid, £5 10s to £5 17s 6d, cows £4 5s to £4 17s 6d. There was a good yarding of sheep, mostly of prime quality. Prime wethers made 14s lOd, others 16s Id and 15s Id, ewes 13s lid to 14s lOd, plain lis 6d, lambs lis 2d to 12s, 12s 7d to 13sJ10d, culls ewes 2s, cull lambs, 5s 6d.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on the sale of stock at Mangamahoe, on Tuesday, as follows -.—The yards were well filled with sheep of all classes, culled sorts predominating, a fair number of buyers were present, and the fact of vendors being reasonable in their reserves, were enabled to do business, nearly every lot changing hands. Cattle entries were limited, and for those offered there existed no demand. In ewes, sound sorts, ranged from 6s 6d to Bs, poorer sorts 3s to 4s, best lambs, very forward, 7s, best stores to ss, poorer sort 3ls lid to 3s, 2-tooth Lincoln rams 1 to 2\ guineas, aged rams down to ss.

JAPANESE OPERETTA. * The Japanese operetta to be produced in the Town Hal), Masterton, on Easter Monday night, by a company of amateurs, is set very attractively. The scene is a Japanese garden, into which a governess and two English girls, who are touring in Japan, are led by curiosity. While sketching, the governess falls asleep in the garden, and the Japanese, discovering the intruders, pretend to misunderstand the governess' explanation of the presence of the English females in the garden.' Ultimately, 0 Hanu San, a Japanese maiden, whose father is away at the wars, comes to the rescue, and the English ladies are made her guests. The part of 0 Hanu San is taken by Miss Vera Edwards, her servant Chaya by Miss Read, and the governess, Miss Knowall, by Miss F. Elkins. There will be a full orchestra, with piano and organ, and the story will be told in song and dialogue. The dancing is under the supervision of fvirs Kendall, and Mr H. S. Claughton will conduct the music.
