WAIRARAPA RUGBY UNION.
(Special Reporter.) A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wairara'pa Rugby Union was held at Carterton last evening. There were present: Messrs A. B. Charters (chairman), Balfour, Webster, E. McKenzie, J. Nicholls, J. Duggan, J. Lyall, B. Chapman. A letter was received from Mr John McMaster, accepting the position of Vice-President, and donating a guinea to the funds of the Union.^ It was decided to write to the Canterbury, South Canterbury, North Otago, Otago and Southland Unions, with reference to arranging matches with those Unions at the conc!usion[of the second round of the local senior fixtures. The Thursday Union wrote askirg that a match be arranged between that Union and the Wairarapa Union, to be played on Thursday, May 21st. It was decided to leave the matter over for the time being; the match will probably take place later in the season. It was decided to,write to the Bush Union, asking them to nlay a a match at Masterton against Wairarapa on May IGih; the team to play the English team to be selected after the match.
