NEW ZEALAND V. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. A WIN FOR THE VISITORS. BY TELEGRAPH —I'EESS ASSOCIATION. Received April 13, 11.25 p.m. ADELAIDE, April 13. The first game of the dominion bowlers against the South Australians was played on the Hindmarsh green to-day. The green was heavy after a light rain. The local men led earlyTri the tenth head, being 13 up. Goldstein's rink made a fine recovery, and New Zealand won amidst great excitement, on the last rink to finish, Widdell scoring two. Walker, in the second head, got a sevener against Hain, who never recovered, although Thompson and lhe skipper playtd many good shots. Spedler led beautifully for who himself played well. John liill began quickly against Goldstein, and on the fifteenth head was ten up. The dominion captain saved magnificently, and finishing well with two 2's made a tie. Allnutt always had a lead over Moody, who, however, reduced it at the finish. Allnutt was several times the saviour of his side with drawing shots. Waddeli and Walsh, the local singles champion, were never far apart. In the last Bishop got second, which Walsh failed to move. Bentley was always in front of Winnall. The dominion captain played an admirable game. The following were the scores: —New Zealand 116. — Neeve, W. Martin, Bishop, Waddeli, 23; McGibbon, Wanning, Smith, Bentley, 26; Stubberfield, Galbraith, Thompson, Hain, 20; Chegwin, Gee, Maynard, Goldstein, 25, Broad, Bastings, Johnston, Allnutt, 20. South Australia, 115. D. Rowely, Hodgert, Walsh, 22; Taplin, J. Chinner, Thomas, Winnall 18; Pealer, Wigg, H. Moody, Wilkes, 32; Bower, Robertson, Inwood, Hall, 25 ;H. Chinner, Channon, Goudie, E. Moody, 18. This morning Mr Johnston, Mayor of Adelaide, received the New Zealand team, who afterwards visited Penfold's vineyard. In the evening they dined with the Bowling Association.
