FEDERAL PARTIES.

THE LABOUR CAUCUS. WHAT IS DEMANDED. Received April 13, 9.50 a.m. MELBOURNE, April 13. It is understood that the Labour caucus ie willing to support Sir William Lyne if given a majority of ihe portfolios. They want four portfolios and one honorary member, leaving Sir William Lyne with three portfolios and one honorary member. There is a possibility that Mr Deakin —who, it has been stated, will resign on Wednesday next —may consent to remain in office until the close of the session. Thia would suit Sir W. Lyne better. He would then be prepared to undertake to form a Ministry.

Received April 14, 12.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, Aprill3. Mr Dealcin has decided to retain office till the tariff is finished, or, perhaps, till the conclusion of the session.
