HOCKEY.
The annual general meeting of the Wairarapa Hockey Association was held last evening, when delegates from W.F.C.A., Carterton, Y.M.C.A., Tui, Knox and S".. Matthew's Clubs were present. Mr E. Daniel occupied the chair. The report and balance-sheet were adopted—the latter showing the Association to be in a satisfactory financial position. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr A. C. Major; Vice-Presidents, Messrs W. H. Jackson, Rev. A. T. Thompson, Dr Bey a:id W. Moore; Hon. Secretary, Mr A. C. Pragnell; Hon. Treasurer, Mr L. S. Nicol; Vice-President New Zealand Hockey Association, Mr W. E. Burley, Grey town. It was decKed t'> form a senior and junior competition, seniors to consist of Carterton and all Masterton Clubs, and juniors, Featherston, Martinborough, Greytown and Carterton B. Mr Bannin intimated that he intended to present a banner to the junior competition, to be won three times in succession, or four times at intervals. A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Messrs Campbell, Vernon and' O'Meara for their services as referees during the past season. Mr H. Donald made a donation of £1 15s towards cost of shelter sheds at Lansdowne, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Mr C. Carley, the retiring secretary, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services as secretary and treasurer during the past season.
The following will represent the Tui Club against St. Matchew's Club, at Lansdowne, to-morrow, play commencing at 3 o'clock:—Truscott, Donald, Nixon, Brown, Tait, Dean, Cresswell, Barrett, Ibbetson, Clarke, Esson. Emergencies—Lee, Drummoud and Newton.
