METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday. Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours: — Wind. —South-easterly, moderate to strong everywhere. Barometer.—Rise everywhere. Frost is probable in all parts of the country southward 'of Napier, Taupo, and Kawhia, and very cold night thence northward. Mr J. C. Boddington reports that, the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the twenty-four hours up 9 to J a.m. on Thursday was 7 points. A Press Association cablegram from Sydney states that the balance of the Bega'a castaways have arrived. Captain Bishop described the sinking of his steamer as a mystery which will remain unsolved.
