WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Hunt Club was held yesterday ; afternoon, and was very largely attended. Dr. A. Hosking occupied the chair. The annual -report was read as follows: — "On handing to you the statement of receipts and expenditure for the season 1907 I beg to again place on record the thanks of the Club for the kindness extended to its members by the different property owners over whose property they have hunted. On perusal of the receipts and expenditure account ycu will see that the Club is in a sound financial position, having a credit balance in the bank amounting to £3 14s 3d after paying off all liabilities. Had we been more fortunate in having a fine day for our annual Steeplechase Meeting, this balance, lam sure, would havu been considerably more than it is. The thanks of the Club are due to Mr James Kennedy for his handsome donation of £2O to-. wards the Steeplechase Meeting, also to Mr Geo. W. Sellar, A.1.A.N.Z., for his gratuitous audit of the books. —ARCHER HOSKING, Master." The annual balance sheet showed receipts in connection with the Steeplechase account to have amounted to £l5O, and expenditure to £127 12s 9d. Chief among the receipts were: —Entrance fees, £sl 15s; bookmakers' licenses, £26 15s; gate money, £2O 13s 6d; donation from Mr J. Kennedy, £2O. Expenditure included £B2 for stak?s, £ls for printing, etc., £lO rent of course. Subscriptions and donations amounted to £B7 2s. The Huntsman's salary absorbed £BO, and the office expenses and sundry accounts £33 18s. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr C. F Vallance; President, Mr Wm. Strang; VicePresidents, Messrs H. R. Bunny and H. Morrison; Master of Hounds, Dr. A. Hosking; Deputy Master, Mr W. H. Buick; Sub-Deputy Master for Carterton, Mr W. H." Booth; SubDeputy Master for Martinborough and Greytown, Mr H. Tilson; Huntsman, Mr H. Welch; General Committee, the Master, Deputy Masters, and Messrs R. Buick, G. H. Perry, C. J. Bennett, W. D. Watson, and T. Clancy. Mr N. H. James was reappointed Secretary. It was decided to hold the annual steeplechase meeting as usual, the date to be decided upon later. The first meet of the hounds was fixed for early next month, on a date to be advertised.
